A new network group, with
participants identified by individual schools as most appropriate,
will be formed for a one-year development on enhancing
transition processes.
A number of people within schools are involved in
different ways with transitions, have had training in
supporting transitions and have developed a range of
expertise to be shared and build upon.
Concern has been expressed about transitions from
KS2 to KS3 and from KS4 to post-16, as well as more general
issues about the whole range of transitions that pupils
experience within their school life.
The group would seek to draw together expertise and
experience to develop a fresh approach to support transitions
for all pupils but with a particular emphasis on vulnerable
pupils. The group will participate together in some shared
training on the specific issues for pupils in transitions
and the theoretical background to the process. This would
be generally applicable in enhancing capacity to manage
change in all contexts. |
